BOTE Triple Crown Race Series

The Triple Crown

The Triple Crown of SUP

Memorial Day weekend is coming up and what better way to kick it off than Friday Night SUP event!

BOTE Boards and Boshamps restuarant are teaming up to bring some weeknight excitement to the Stand Up Paddleboarding scene this Spring. The DESTIN TRIPLE CROWN of SUP will provide paddlers an opportunity to test their skills in solo races, team relays, and other fun themed events.  The series will take place on from May to July.

“If you have been on, near, or around the water in Destin lately, there is about a 100% chance you have seen people out on a Stand Up Paddleboard, (SUP) says Magda Cooper, COO of BOTE Boards. “People love paddling, and even more so, they love getting together with friends to paddle, exercise, or just hang out and paddle for fun! Our goal with the DESTIN TRIPLE CROWN of SUP is to give this ever growing group of paddlers a monthly event to look forward to, as well as provide an experience that is uniquely Destin.”

Races will be held at Boshamps restuarant, located on the Destin Harbor. Each race will consist of an Individual/Solo 2 mile race-12’ and under boards, followed by a 1 mile, 4 man team relay with ¼ mile sprints, including buoy turns. (See course map below)

ICAST interview VIDEOs

The BOTE Team did alot of talking over the 3 day ICAST expo in Orlando, FL.  The show was very media intense and BOTE was interviewed frequently by members of the media wanting to know more about the products.  We would like to give a big thanks to the good folks at Kayak Angler Magazine and Florida Sportsman who did feature videos of our interviews.

Orange Bowl Paddle Championship 2012

A few people from the BOTE team left Surf Expo early to head down to Miami for the 2nd Orange Bowl Paddle Championship. There were over 200 paddlers, and BOTE’s very own Magda Cooper battled it out for 4th place in the Women’s 12’6”, 7 mile, elite division.

Check out a few pictures from the event!

The event was to benefit the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Greater Miami Area!

All in all, Magda and BOTE is all smiles! Can’t wait until next year!

Surf Expo Days 1 & 2

BOTE is back at Surf Expo and the booth is bigger and better than the last show.

BOTE revealed the new HD (Hybrid Displacement) board. When you first look at it, it appears to be the staple, 12′ BOTE board, but when you look a little closer, it has a displacement front.

Magda and Tiffany represented BOTE and handed out the new 2012 product books.

The BOTE booth was the place to be, with location near the SUP pool, the booth had great traffic and BOTE met a lot of great new people!

The House of Blues hosted the Surf Expo Industry after Party.

Magda was the hit of the SUP pool by paddling in her heels!

Free Beer Friday at the Expo got a little out of hand, but was still fun and all of the vendors were able to let loose and network freely.

BOTE is ready for Day 3!

BOTE at Surf Expo in Orlando, FL

The BOTE crew spent the last week in Orlando, FL at Surf Expo.  Surf Expo is a trade show that showcases the latest products in surf, skate, SUP, swimwear and anything related to the industry.  There, we had the opportunity to meet with several new BOTE dealers and see / try some of the newest products in the industry.

Our booth at Surf Expo

This is a picture of our showcase booth.  We lucked out and were placed next to the indoor SUP pool, where show attendees were able to paddle BOTE boards next to our booth.

We were also able to get away for a few seconds to check out the wake pool.

The crew had a blast at Surf Expo and look forward to attending the next Surf Expo in January 2012!

BOTE at Outdoor Retailer in Utah

BOTE exhibited at this years Outdoor Retailer Trade Show in Salt Lake City, Utah.  While there, we did a short interview with the editors of Rapid Media Productions who produce magazines such as Kayak Angler, Rapid, and Adventure Kayak.  They wanted to get an insight into the 12′ BOTE board’s unique features.

VIDEO: Gator Belly Dragging Test!

A Short video of the guys at the shop doing a demolition test to one of the old Gator Belly Boards. We wanted to see how well a board with the Gator Belly would hold up while being dragged behind a truck! After the test, the board would have still been 100% usable. WARNING!!!! Don’t try this with any other paddle board.
